2024 has kicked off with a bang. The highly anticipated Nex Gen tour by Bring Me The Horizon started in Cardiff at the beginning of the month, and moved through Bournemouth for the second night with an almighty roar for their smallest show on tour at Bournemouth International Centre.
The level of production for the show was off the charts. It was surprising to see what the BIC could hold in that respect, but similarly with the production of The 1975’s At Their Very Best tour the previous year, it showed that the venue could definitely handle the big shows like these as well.
The Bring Me crowd were on point. Thousands of adoring fans singing, shouting, screaming along to the words of Oli Sykes. A sea of cameras in the air taking pictures and videos of the singer as he moved along the stage.
Most music is best heard live. Bring Me The Horizon fit that for sure. The intensity of their sound moves through you. The set list was the perfect mix of songs through the ages, with some going back to the Suicide Season era, right through to the latest addition to the discography, Kool-Aid, which by the way if you haven’t heard it, totally slaps.
Photographing them was fun too, and capturing the crowd was great. They had some very lively fans at the front which made for some great pictures. You’ve got to love the energy.
